Shit!

Sun Apr 26, 2009, 12:36 PM
I bought a Nikon D1 two weeks ago.
The battery won't hold a charge, going to test it with a voltage meter later.
So, I'm going back to the guy I got it from, and purchasing his D1H.
I've been playing with my Holga, loaded with 35mm film, because I have no 120.
I also hacked a $2 point and shoot into a pinhole, and am taking it everywhere to see what kind of images I get..
I've been interested in the film medium for a while, and missed it when I went digital. I like the surprise you get.

I'm a 24 year old body modification enthusiast from Burlington, ON. I'm also a horseback rider, big fan of reading anything (mostly non-fiction), into computer forensics (Fleming College: Computer Security and Investigations), psychology, physics and philosophy.
I shoot with a Nikon D1 which I am trading for a Nikon D1H next week. I also use a Canon G7 and Canon TX1. Canon makes good point and shoots.
My first camera was a 1mp, $400 camera, with a 16mb storage. I got it when I was 14, and used it for many years, before finding my dad's old Canon AE-1. I threw some film into it, and actually got some good shots.
The next year, my parents got me a new SLR, a Canon Rebel 2000. I liked it, it had a lot more functions than the AE-1 and was easier to use.
However, I wanted to go digital. I got a Canon Digital Rebel XT a year later and used that for several years before switching to Nikon, starting with a D40x and switching to a D1, and soon a D1H.
I also use a Lomography Fisheye 2, Lomography Action Sampler, Lomo Smena, and a 35mm point and shoot I hacked into a pinhole, which I am excited to test out.
Film and digital are so different. I love to play with both. Digital for the control, and also simplicity. Film, for the surprise you get!
